While the tiles are fully waterproof when used with siliconized acrylic latex sealant in the seams, it is still essential to follow local building codes for wet areas like shower and tub enclosures. It is recommended to use a completely waterproof substrate to prevent water from penetrating unsealed areas, which could lead to mold or damage.
